ABSTRACT

The goal of this paper is to show that using cell phone, electromagnetic wave is transferred to the body which causes health problems especially at the place near ear skull region where they are known to affect the neurons. Data capture sheet was used in this field work to collect various data from the five types of phones. Tecno phone has low radiation ranging from 0.2 Hz to 0.02 Hz. So such cell phone is advice to use because of its low radiation.

ABSTRACT

The enormous challenge of today’s publishing privacy concerns in ubiquitous networks and computing include the ability to deploy large scale applications anywhere anytime. Cloud computing has revolutionized the way computing and software services are delivered to the clients on demand. It offers users the ability to connect to computing resources and access IT managed services with a previously unknown level of ease. Due to this greater level of flexibility, the cloud has become the breeding ground of a new generation of products and services. However, in this work we want direct attention away from the dataset which helps to guarantee the utility, and focus attention on the evasive attacker, simulate his knowledge and in other to create efficient security of datasets by developing a potential attacker background knowledge metric that will help in determining the extent to which anonymity algorithm should be applied to guarantee sufficient privacy for a particular domain without unnecessarily distorting the data utility with optimal anonymity.

ABSTRACT

Global stability and bifurcation analysis of an existing mathematical model for monitoring diabetic population is treated in this paper. The work is an extension of the work in [2] and [3]. The equilibrium point in the linear case of the model is seen to be globally asymptotically stable. The system, in the nonlinear case, is seen to undergo bifurcation (trans-critical and Hopf bifurcation).

ABSTRACT

A Geophysical survey was carried out to investigate groundwater potential at the permanent site in female hostel of Federal University Dustin-ma, Katsina State Nigeria. The aim of the investigation is to explore the groundwater potential of the area with the objectives of determining the depth to basement, the depth and thickness of aquifer, the thickness of the weathered basement, the variation in resistivity of the overburden and for other, properties such as sediments at which portable groundwater can be obtained. The geo-electrical methods used in the survey were the Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) and Horizontal profiling. Five (5) VES were conducted using the Schlumberger configuration and Horizontal spread covering the entire area. The Horizontal Profiling data was carried out to obtain the lateral variation in resistivity. Based on the interpretation of the profiling data, areas with low resistivity were sounded along the traverse. The VES data were interpreted using geophysical software IPI2Win which showed that the area is composed of four layers namely; topsoil, weathered basement, fractured basement and fresh basement. Based on the interpretation of the VES points the depth to basement varies from 10.2 to 63.1m, the thickness of the aquifer varies from 2.34 to 62.2 m and it depths varies from 10.2 to 62.2 m, the resistivity of the overburden (topsoil) varies from 31.3 to 977 Ωm, the thickness of the weathered basement varies from 5.21 to 36.7 m. Contour maps were plotted using the SURFER 10 computer software showing all the topsoil resistivity, aquifer thickness and depth to basement at each VES point. Based on all the correlated data and information the following points VES 02, VES 04 and VES 05 are highly recommended for suitable groundwater establishment.

ABSTRACT

The number of massive data collected today by software in different fields vary from academia to business and many other fields, this growth of data is increasingly becoming a huge problem in regards to storage and effective data management to meet up with high performance and scalability needed. The need for highly organised data storage and analysis for the purpose of accessibility by other applications simultaneously on real time bases is greatly on the increase. The emerging of new technology now and then in the IT world with better and well defined features is on the increase. Database vendors have been comfortable for a while in their market as RDBMS have been in control of the market for over forty years without another competing DBMS. In this research work, database types were examined with the aim to assess the challenges faced by existing database management system and how to adopt other alternative database management systems to effectively manage the massive data generated as a result of cloud computing technology. The research conducted eventually indicated reasons for a shift to an alternative NoSQL database based on the challenges analysed from the existing system. The study also investigated the perception of data base administrators of ICT companies in Nigeria in terms of the necessity of using of NoSQL database. The research results indicated quite a number of Companies situated at Lagos and Abuja states of Nigeria that are in use of NoSQL databases which is a new database system that is cloud friendly and can effectively manage large volume of data; quite a number too are considering adopting NoSQL databases as a result of its benefits in managing data at this era of cloud computing technology.

ABSTRACT

The primary purpose of delegation of Authority is to make work in organisation possible, just as managers or superiors cannot do all the task necessary as an organisation grow in both size and resources. This paper examined delegation of authority and employee motivation in registry department, Federal Polytechnic, Bida. The study examined delegation of authority and employee’s motivation and how this can lead to attainment of organisational objective in Federal Polytechnic, Bida. The methodology used was a structured question using Likert Scale Rating to collect and analyse data. The study area is the registry department, Federal Polytechnic, Bida. A total of thirty five (35) questionnaires were administered to employees in registry department to elicit adequate information but only twenty four (24) questionnaires were returned. The analyses were done as based on the questionnaires returned. Findings reveal that delegation of authority on employee motivation in registry department, Federal Polytechnic, Bida can lead to the employee’s motivation and attainment of the Polytechnics goals and objective. The paper concludes that delegation of authority by superiors in registry department in Federal Polytechnic, Bida, is necessary since the superior cannot perform all jobs in their various units. The researcher therefore recommended that superior officers in registry department, Federal Polytechnic, Bida, should endeavour to accommodate the mistake of subordinates. This is obvious because majority of respondents that superiors in strongly agreed that superiors in registry department, Federal Polytechnic, Bida are not willing to accommodate mistake made by subordinates.

ABSTRACT

The need to bring about lower marketing cost, better marketing services, improvement in the quality of  products, elicit demand, extension of production credit and so on has led to the formation of some cooperative societies. Our focus is on the impact of cooperative societies in the advancement of marketing activities in Ogun State. Its objectives are to identify the impact of cooperative societies in securing fair price, enhancing the distribution/storage system and creating awareness for its members’ products. Descriptive research design was adopted; the study population comprised all the members of onward cooperative society in Ogun State. Using non-probability (judgmental) sampling method, 120 questionnaires were administered of which 80 were retrieved. Descriptive statistics and multinomial logistic regression were used to present demographic data and the test of hypotheses respectively.  The study revealed that cooperative societies have greatly impacted the advancement of marketing activities of its members in terms of securing better pricing, efficient distribution process, improved storage facilities and efficient marketing communication strategies. In line with the findings, the researchers therefore recommended that cooperative societies should continue to increase and provide necessary marketing support so as assist members increase their productivity and enhance the quality of their output.

ABSTRACT

Transparency and Accountability are key elements of good governance, be it at governmental or institutional levels. Transparency is all about free flow of information while Accountability presupposes that holders of public or institutional office should and must be accountable to the various stakeholders. When fully and properly applied, financial transparency and discipline could help fight and minimize corruption, ensure good governance at both public and institutional levels, and promotes sustainable development. The Nigerian tertiary institutions, universities in particular, being the citadels of learning are expected to play leading roles in the fight against corruptive tendencies by providing a pathway to financial prudency in the management of their finances and resources.
