THE IDEAL CONVENTION CENTER: AN INTERACTION OF SPACE AND USER BEHAVIOUR

ABSTRACT

Convention centers are multi-experience venues that encourage learning and small group interactions. The aim of this article is to explore into the interaction and rapport between the physical space and the behaviour of users in a convention center. In this paper, we look at what the ideal convention center looks like and see its advantages over existing convention centers as it promotes interaction, satisfaction and user friendliness which will be discussed in detail.

URBAN DEVELOPMENT THROURGH CREATION OF LEISURE AND ENTERTAINMENT PARKS IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT

The design of urban public park is an important factor which influence urban community leisure. The objective of this study is to investigate the community perceptions on leisure and  entertainment activities in urban public park as a means of urban development. The questionnaire survey is done in Rivers state using random stratifies technique. There are four types of variable studies related to leisure parks in an urban public park namely comforts, conveniences, safety and family leisure. The findings from this study are expected to show a positive perception of leisure in urban public park towards urban community development.


A PUBLIC AQUARIUM TO REVITALIZE TINAPA AND HELP PROTECT AQUATIC LIVES IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT

It is widely accepted that Tinapa projects are in crisis. They face a barrage of daily threats including facilities degradation, lack of federal government policy to support the free trade zone, high maintenance cost and underutilization of existing infrastructures. While Tinapa need crowd to function, the coastal line is overcrowded and the strain on Nigeria waters is conspicuous. They face the treats of overfishing, habitat degradation, increased runoff and septic discharge from coast settlements. This paper will show that with the development of a public aquarium , with programs instituting and implementing conservation solution that will stimulate public involvement, we can provide the crowd Tinapa needs to function and at the same time create public awareness to the protection and conservation of marine species and the environment.

With the case study of some aquariums that have contributed to the economic revival and growth of the localities they are built, this study will evaluate challenges and opportunities associated with the development and expansion of aquarium programs to promote personal and civic oriented activity that will revive Tinapa and protect aquatic resources.

ABSTRACT

The concept “lifelong learning “gained prominence in educational discourse as a fundamental right of human being. The adults in the society are affected by the day-to-day economic trends. This challenge may prevent their survival if the educational system is not made profitable and appetitive sector to ensure the success of knowledge-based global economy of the 21st century. Hence this paper is aimed at a lifelong learning approach to significantly shape the global marketing policies in the name of emancipation of the adults in the society. It examined the strategies for promoting lifelong learning in a contemporary society. However, this paper concludes that adults in a learning society can adequately survive the harsh economic measures being experienced in developing nations like Nigeria if lifelong learning is vigorously pursued and implemented to pave smooth way for a sustainable economic development.

EFFECTS OF SOCIOLOGICAL FACTORS ON JOB PERFORMANCES OF FEMALE ACADEMICS IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN NASARAWA STATE

ABSTRACT

Sociological factors are very critical to job performances of female academics in the society. Which had plays a vital role to ensure efficiently on job performances of female academics in their institutions. However, these female academics are faces with problem of time management and problem of age of career pursue that always coincide with their ages of child raising in the society. The main objective of the study is to examine sociological factors that affect job performances of female academics and to identify the challenges to job performance of female academics in their institutions. Structure questionnaires were used to collects data from forty five (45) populations of the study or respondents. Where frequency distribution tables and simple percentages were used to analyze the data collected in the field from the respondents. The study therefore recommended that female academics should be encouraged to go for further studies and identifies the problem of job performance of female academics and addresses it accordingly.
